Possibly. Definitely.

What can one expect of a day that begins with getting out of bed.

If the home-office qualifies, you can deduct a percentage of
your rent, certain utilities, insurance, etc. The
percentage is based on the square footage of the "office"
space to the whole house/apartment.

And yes, it may be wise to use a tax professional, at least
in your first year.

Default Sales Rep Home-Office Deductions?

I have a question. I am a pharamaceutical sales rep and all
my administrative work is conducted in my office. I live alone
in a two bedroom apartment with one room set up as my office.
There is no "corporate office" that I report to but I am
required by my company to do administrative duties on a nightly
basis. Can I deduct my rent on my 1040 and if I do, should I
use a tax professional as I have never done this before?

Thanks
