I don't believe there IS a limit on duration. The tax years
to which the forms apply have to be listed specifically, and
are limited to three future years.

Good until revoked, either by client/taxpayer or the
attorney.

The 2848 requires that the time period be rendered explicitly.
One can not use terms such as "all years" or leave the field
blank. Therefore, the 2848 will expire after the last period
mentioned in Item 3 of the form.

What do you mean by "limit"?

If you want to know if they'll stop sending you stuff on a
former client, the answer is no. Eight years after the
fact, you may still be getting notices on a deadbeat former
client.

You can revoke the POA by sending a letter stating that you
want to revoke it to the service center.
