FYI, I tried it in TaxCut 2003. It took 9,999,999 but not
10,000,000. Strange coincidence! The entry allowed 9 digits
if I remember correctly, but pressing The Enter key
triggered a pop-up saying numbers over 10,000,000 were not
valid numbers.

Sorry I can't answer your question, but out of curiosity I
checked TaxCut 2003 and found the same limitation. It would
only accept up to $9,999,999.99 in the sales-price column of
the Sch.D worksheet.

By the way, what portfolio tracking software are you using?

Default TurboTax Field Limitation on Amt - Sch D

If this is not the appropriate group for this question
please advise. I'm not sure the Quicken group is the right
place. And yes, I plan to ask TurboTax Support, but sadly,
do not necessarily expect an accurate answer.

I trade stocks for a living. For 2002, I used TurboTax
Deluxe. I have so many individual trades that I report an
aggregate amount for total sales and cost on Schedule D, and
attach a separare report with detail.

TurboTax Deluxe 2002 would not accept an amount greater than
9,999,999.99 on a SINGLE input line in its Schedule D
worksheet. This forced me to use "dummy" figures to net the
correct amounts within TurboTax, and then I had to use a
..pdf editing tool to edit and create a Schedule D with the
correct figures to substitute for the Sch D that TurboTax
spit out.

So my question is this: For anyone who used TurboTax2002
PREMIER or PREMIER HOME & BUSINESS, can you please see if it
will accept a figure of 10,000,000.00 or more as a single
line entry for Sales Price in the Sch D worksheet? Or, if
you already have TurboTax Deluxe or higher for 2003, can you
check the same?

Thanks in advance, and please, I TRADED over 10,000,000, I
didn't NET 10,000,000, lol.
