| No comment on Turbo Tax for non-pros. We quit them in 1998 after 10 plus years, mainly for lack of support and silly complicated worksheets. You must have tried to directly enter the info and amounts> - it won't let me enter short term stock trades. You have to do all the entering of info in the area called "Capital Gains and Losses Smart Worksheet" . Open a new Sched D, and you'll see it up near the top BEFORE Part I. Based on the dates you enter there, it will then "flow" to the correct part of Sched D (i.e., short or long term). I hope this helps. Have you made sure you are using the date format they specify? With due respect, this newsgroup is not a software support> - it won't let me enter short term stock trades. Is > this a problem that will be fixed with their updates?? forum. I suggest that you post your question elsewhere. Hopefully Turbo Tax gave you a 1-800 number to call to> - it won't let me enter short term stock trades. Is > this a problem that will be fixed with their updates?? report bugs <g> . As a general rule, this newsgroup does not provide answers to tax software problems or homework questions. I recall that someone has created a newsgroup for Turbo Tax problems. It somewhat surprises me that Turbo Tax does not have a website for support. By the way (because I read everything before it gets posted) someone has provided you with an answer.
