Not true. The donee should not be providing FMV. The donor
needs to know the market.

The best approach is to pay a visit to your local thrift shop
with a pad and pencil and record the prices for items that are
comparable to what you donated. That said, here is a list of
sites that have values:

The following appeared in a Google search for "Fair Market
Value of Charitable Donations":

http://www.intuit.com/about_intuit/p...ible/faqs.html

It appears to be a description of an Intuit program
(presumably for sale) which will provide you figures for
"fair market value" of personal property items.

Not to my knowledge. The FMV is supposed to be provided by
the donee. Sometimes, donee's have general guidelines on
their receipts but these are just guidelines. I know of two
people with 57 Chevrolets. One is worth $300 and the other
is worth $35,000.

I have one that I have gotten out of the Quickfinder books
each year. It may or may not be available online. There
should be something similar, though.

Default Fair market value

Hope everyone had a great Christmas. Is there a place where
I can get a list of items showing fair market value of items
donated to charity?

Thanks,
