When you say Health Care Reimbursement account, I am making
the assumption the you're talking about a medical flexible
spending accounts covered by Section 125 of the Internal
Revenue Code. If so, 2004 deposits can be used only for
those medical expenses incurred in 2004. They cannot be
used for medical expenses incurred in 2003.

No, your 2004 deposits can only be applied to expenses
incurred in 2004.

Default Can 2004 Deposits pay 2003 Health Care reimbursements

My health care costs for 2003 exceeded the $1000 I put into
my Health Care Reimbursement account. Can my 2004 deposits
reimburse me for 2003 claims? For example, If I submit
$1500 of claims during 2003, can my 2004 deposits go toward
reimbursing that $500 shortfall?
