I don't think it's off topic, but I don't recall any such
provision. Any "household employee" is treated differently
than other employees.

could be considered a medical expense, the taxes are also a medical deduction.
Maybe that's what you were recalling.

This is a little off topic, but I think I remember if the
"domestic help" is to care for an elderly person (say a
disabled person) different rules on payment of SS apply, or
am I completely off base?
