And no contextual limit checks. If one of the Mars boys
filed for the same sized refund it would not have been out
of range. Do you mean all the IRS boys have to do is blame
their computer for their incompetence. :-$ I only get to
Northern Neck when I head for Tangier Island, the home of
the world's best crabs.

That case was in your "neck of the woods' I believe, Northern Neck
maybe? lol

When I first learned Basic programming at Loyola in Bal'mer,
one of the lessons was that you put upper and lower limits
in programs against which results are checked. I reckon
IRS computers have no upper limits on refunds. It's a
dirty rotten lowdamn shame.

Especially if one has to manually type it. Thanks Stu.

What was hilarious I think was even though she got that
humongous refund, spent $40,000 for a Mercedes, paid her
brother's tuition, etc etc, she was heard to say when led
away from the courtroom: "the government shouldn't have
sent me that check".

Sure. ah hah.

According to the Richmond Times Dispatch He claimed
nonexistent withholding on a nonexistent 1099 as the basis
for an overpayment on the 1040X. The return did not claim
the refund was for slave reparations. The fact that the IRS
paid over $500,000 to his daughter is shocking to me. Just
inexcusable!

Default preparation of reparations and the repercusions

Remember the tax preparer in Virginia who claimed the slave
reparations for his clients including his daughter?
