You can check the web sites of the specific departments of
revenue for information on filing and getting forms.
There are variopus issue you would have to deal with such as
filing status, community property, depreciation treatment,
capital gains treatment and in general conformity or lack
thereof to federal tax laws. It seems like you probably
like to do this yourself. This may be a year where it would
be to your advantage to consult with a local tax
professional to ensure accurate tax returns...and then in
the future you may be better equipped to prepare them
yourself.

It's logical except that some states require filers to use
the same filing status as used on their federal returns
(Ohio, maybe California, others).

Logic does not always have its place in tax law. You are at
the mercy of each state's tax laws as to how you must file.
There are also issues relative to community income versus
separate income depending upon residence.

It depends on the states involved.

Default Filing for spouses in different states??

I lurk here to try and learn a thing or two, but I have a
question I was hoping some one could help me with. If
someone is married filed jointly but works in a different
state then the his/her own, do they just file a seperate
state return in the state where they work? It seems
logical, but I want to make sure I'm not missing something.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
