| I have a general question about filing taxes. I currently work for a company in their IT department and I personally incur expenses that are not reimbursed. For example my company uses Nextel phones and I have a Nextel phone that is used for business/personal. The company does not reimburse me for the calls that they make to me. Can this be written off in my taxes? If so, is there a limit? I also have other non-reimbursed business expenses like ISP fees for example. Can this also be written off? If so, is there a limit? Now...there is one other thing that I have a question about. Of course in IT, certifications are important and expensive. I have worked for many companies that will pay for your education but they are talking about giving you money toward your college degree. Can the expense for certifications be written off on your taxes? Again, I am not sure if this is possible. Any advice on this would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance for your time and input! << -------------------------------------------------> << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org > << -------------------------------------------------> |
