Some of those have been updated for the new tax law. -- This account is subject to a persistent MS Blaster and SWEN attack. I believe that TaxACT has released their 2003 "preview" editions,> Dec. Are there any tax programs or calculators for 2003 > available now. but I won't vouch for how perfect the AMT calculations are at this time. You can probably score a free evaluation copy at www.taxact.com. Also, there is an unofficial TaxACT user group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TaxACTors/. Bill: There is a FREE spreadsheet program that will> bracket and the 15% cap gains and dividend bracket there are > going to be a lot of people closer to the AMT. Figuring AMT is to complicated to just wing > it with estimates. -bill compute your tax for 2003 and display all the computed lines of the 1040, 6251, Schedule D and its Worksheet, etc. Download it at http://www.edcosoft.com/qitc.html and open the zipped file qitc_dem.xls in Excel97 or later. The registration is only required if you want it to compute Annualized Income Method installments. There are estimaters at various tax sites ( H & R Block and probably TT) that will now compute 2003 taxes, but they don't show the calculations, and I think TaxAct has a free tax program that is functional now, but it won't show the computed lines and the free one may not be complete enough for your situation. | It finally struck me that with the lower top income tax bracket and the 15% cap gains and dividend bracket there are going to be a lot of people closer to the AMT. I still have time to do some planning before Dec 31, but according to the Turbo-Tax web site, Turbo-Tax 2003 won't be released until Dec. Are there any tax programs or calculators for 2003 available now. Figuring AMT is to complicated to just wing it with estimates. -bill << -------------------------------------------------> << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org > << -------------------------------------------------> |
