I know the feeling. Following Hurricane Andrew (1992) we
were without power for two weeks in 95 degree August heat.

Daily ice trips to the supermarket, canned tuna fish, peanut
butter and jelly, cold showers, etc. etc.

Despite that, we were -- unlike so many others -- fortunate
to still have a house.

My daughter is a bit miffed. She was looking forward to
being in a hurricane after moving to FL instead of the snow
storm of last winter in DC and lo and behold! Her friends in
DC got the dubious "pleasure" first.

I grew up with them so I have no enthusiasm for the

My power and phone have been out since Thursday 6:10pm.
The Public Library got power back on Saturday, but my
my ISP and the Library are having a problem holding
a connection.

So .... when consistent power resumes
