You can access and look at the form at> the following, in california > what form is used to report taxable sales, > how are returns adjusted > how are short payments adjusted > how are discounts adjusted http://www.boe.ca.gov/pdf/boe401a2.pdf. Gross sales are reported on the front of the return, and deductions are itemized on the back and the total brought forward to deduct from gross sales. The form and instructions are pretty self-explanatory. You will also find the application form for a seller's permit on the SBE's web site. You cannot sell taxable items in California until you have been issued a seller's permit. Again, the form and instructions are pretty clear. The form for individuals or partnerships is at http://www.boe.ca.gov/pdf/boe400mip.pdf. Corporations, LLCs and other organizations use the form at http://www.boe.ca.gov/pdf/boe400mco.pdf. There are different forms depending on type of business, etc. Look them up on the internet for information. -- Jo Firey "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away." << -------------------------------------------------> << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org > << -------------------------------------------------> |

You may want to start at the CA Board of Equalization website> the following, in california > what form is used to report taxable sales, > how are returns adjusted > how are short payments adjusted > how are discounts adjusted and download the instructions for completing the return: http://www.boe.ca.gov/sutax/staxformsa.htm (alphabetically) http://www.boe.ca.gov/sutax/staxformsn.htm (numerically) Alan http://taxtopics.net << -------------------------------------------------> << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org > << -------------------------------------------------> |
