What it comes down to is this: Is the office that is 60
miles away considered his REGULAR place of work by the
employer? If so, then trips to the other offices are
deductible as temporary worksites. However, you also need
to watch out that he isn't considered as itinerate or have a
"territory" as his workplace....

Default a mileage question

I know regular commuting is not deductible. My husband works
for a company with many branches, and being in a training
program, works in many different offices. Typically, he's
asked to be 250 miles away for 3 days/wk, and works out of
an office about 60 miles away on the other two. The company
doesn't reimburse him any mileage, but they do pay for gas.
Should I stop keeping track of the mileage or is this at all
deductible?

Thanks in advance--this seems to be one of the calmer and
more civilized newsgroups I've ever read.
