Sorry for the slow reply; I don't get as much newsreading> > the Very Hungry Caterpillar sleeps in the other office, and > > has low heat tolerance), > You keep a pet caterpillar in your office? (And all I have > is a yard cat) time as I used to. The Very Hungry Caterpillar is my baby, who will be 9 weeks old on Saturday. I work for her Grandma, so yeah, we sort of do keep a pet Caterpillar in our office. Except we discovered neither one of us could work with her here, and her Grandpa spent his whole day poking her so she'd wake up, playing with her until she cried, then handing her to one of us. So now she stays home with her other mom while I work in the morning, then I go home and watch her while her other mom comes to work. Well, to be perfectly honest, at that point, there was no> making things unconfortable for an auditor. air conditioning other than in my boss' office, so we were all hot. But we were in shorts and the poor auditor was in a suit. Downstairs is both out of our hair and the coolest part of the house, and we had an unlimited supply of cold drinks. We have window units upstairs now (in both offices, because the Very Hungry Caterpillar sleeps in the other office, and has low heat tolerance), but we work there and there's no work surface for anyone else. If we had a client drop by (which they do at their own peril), they'd get the same table the auditor is getting. - quote - > Last in office audit for a corporation resulted in no

We were in the process of buying a practice, and while I did most of the work on the return, the selling CPA signed the return and made the decision to pass on the questions I had. Driving through in sports car with non working a/c unit. (Colorado was SO nice when we got there.) Anyway, I'm not one of those who believe in deliberately making things unconfortable for an auditor. Best to get 'em in, and get 'em out asap. I won't let them use my copying machine though, unless they bring their own paper. Coffee, I do offer them. And I think examiners, auditors, inquisitors, appreciate that, since they're human, too. I think. Last in office audit for a corporation resulted in no change. Now, I'm not going to say that the fact that she was from my hometown had anything to do with it. (Her father, turns out, worked for my father briefly once, and he also, as chief of police, gave me my very first traffic ticket for running stop sign. Don't ask how long ago!
