Mailed (to both Phil and the OP) and posted, because of> movies. the limited tax content... At least in Indiana, all ACTUAL heirs must be sent copies of the will and agree in order for the executor to operate without court supervision. Still no "reading of the will", but it's possible that the OP, if named in the will, could object to the appointment of the executor and/or disposition of the assets, even if otherwise time-barred. Information is based on the procedings in regard the death of my mother last October. Although there wasn't a "reading of the will", all the primary heirs (my father, sister and I (the latter two as trustees of the "B" trust funded by the will), and the Purdue Foundation) were INVITED to a discussion of the terms of the will. The Purdue Foundation didn't actually appear, but they did agree to the operation of the estate without court supervision. << -------------------------------------------------> << The Charter and the Guidelines for submitting > << messages to this newsgroup are at www.asktax.org > << -------------------------------------------------> |

Since you were so close, I'm sure your uncle's papers> without me doing anything? included your contact information. The executor should be able to find you, but you can always find him if necessary. - quote - > If you miss the reading of the will, are you out of luck?
No. The drama of the reading of the will is only for themovies. - quote - > Is there a way to review or see a person's will?

| An Uncle died and I didn't even know about it until after they were buried. If their will contained anything for me would it come without me doing anything? If you miss the reading of the will, are you out of luck? Is there a way to review or see a person's will? Thanks |
