| Answers in order: No. Yes, with no common information--though unless you use a newer version of Money under a multi-user OS like WinXP with separate users, there may be some collisions of the Tools|Options settings. There isn't one good answer to this. Every way you do it has one set of problems or another. You are seeing them. Personally, I'd worry about mine and ours and leave hers (or his, as the case may be) well enough alone. This choice is more influenced by a desire to avoid fighting about such things as keeping the data up to date or not than by any belief it is better than the other choices. Whatever else consider this: it's Way Much easier to separate one file into multiple files at some point in the future than it is to merge two files into one. | I tried setting up money to manage both of our bills and shared bills but this seems impossible. I can't view just my bills with just my payees, etc. Even trying to have one of us maintain the shared account seems to cause problems. Right now we have 3 separate files: mine, hers, shared. Also I am not sure but should i see payees from one data file to the next? Can i maintain 2 totally separate data files or will they share some common information? Can anyone give their MS Money strategy for a couple living together? Thanks. |
