I did some more digging and found the answer on my own. I'm posting the
solution for the benefit of others in this newgroup.

All invoices are saved in the following location: "C:\Documents and
Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Money\Invoice". The invoices
are all HTML documents (*.htm). The invoice templates provided by Money
will be contain the string "tmpl" followed by a number. Service templates
have a prefix of "sr". The customized templates all begin with "usr"
followed by a number.

In my case, the old custom templates were not removed when I
uninstalled/reinstalled Money, but I could not select them as a template for
invoices. Here is how I fixed this problem.

In the same directory as the invoice template htm files is a file named
"2004Invoices.ntd". This file is a text document can be editted with
notepad. The file contains a list of available invoice templates and their
properties. Here is a sample entry:

Service Portrait 1 (Logo)/1100/850/portrait/tmpl2.htm/1

The properties of the template are separated by the slashes. The properties
are (in order)
1. the name of the invoice
2. the vertical length of the invoice (in thousandths of an inch)
3. the horizontal length of the invoice (in thousandths of an inch)
4. the orientation of the invoice
5. the filename of the invoice
6. UNKNOWN but appears to be either a 0, 1 or 2 ( I would suggest leaving
this property alone).

To make my custom invoice template accessable, I had to copy a line for one
of the existing templates. I made sure that the line copied was for the
proper type (service), orientation (portrait), and use of a logo (mine
does). Then it was just a matter of modifying the name and file name
properties. The last step was to go into the invoice designer and customize
my template to replace the placeholder image there with my actual logo.

When I went into the invoice list I was able to select the custom invoice
template and print it just fine.

I recently had to uninstall/reinstall Money 2004 Small Business. I forgot
to export my custom invoices beforehand so now I only have the default
invoice templates. I do have a good backup of my system from the night
before but I cannot locate the invoice files in order to restore them.

Can anyone help me with this?
