Yes. Restore will ask if you want to save the file to the "default",> question. Do I interpret from your message that when I > open the .mbf file I can save it to my original file name? and that would overwrite the existing file. |

You can choose a different filename to restore to, in case you have hopes for your .mny file. That hope seems slim to me. Don't know what would have caused your problem. Accessing the file over a network, perhaps? |

| I started receiving this message yesterday, 6/21, and have read the earlier posts. Dell was no help. They had me do a System Restore and an uninstall/reinstall of MS Money 2004. And MS wants to get paid to talk to a person! This pc is less than 2 mos. old. I'm turning to what has worked in the past, users and experts. I've also tried the Quick Repair and the -s option salvage (Level 2) to repair the file, with no success. The log said there were "no broken records in the original file," but the newly named salvaged file had the same problem. I opened a different file with no problem, which tells me the issue is with my personal file. I have a backup from earlier this month. Is this my last solution? Do I simply open the backup file, or go through the Restore process? And other than having to do a lot of matching of records, what else should I be looking for when I bring my data up to date? Any idea what is causing this? Is there less chance of this happening with M04 Deluxe ((Iwouldn't think so, but...). I never had this happen with earlier versions of Money Deluxe (99 & 02). Thanks for help and insight! |
