| Sorry I didn't have a better plan. But reformatting a hard disk without any regard to preserving data files that are on it just is not something that can be solved. People don't carry their paper filing cabinets to their driveway, pour gasoline on them, set them ablaze, then ask where their files went. What makes them think a computer is somehow different is a mystery to me. Money sync with the web has **NEVER** been advertised as an alternate to keeping local backups. For it to be, it would require Money to put 100% of your info on the web--which the present design does not do, as I understand it. (I've never used it.) That would seem to be another profoundly bad move. | That may be, but it does not help. If Money is going to replicate the data on the web, which has disturbing privacy implications anyway, then it should provide a mechanism to say, "There is a discrepancy between what is on the web and on my machine, treat the web information as correct and rebuild my local data", or vice versa. regards, Alan. | I recently formatted my computer and reinstalled Windows & the other programs I had.. I have been using Money 2003 for all of my banking records, and now do not have that data. I know every time I logged out of Money 2003, it would syncronize with the web... so I think the data is still out there online. Does anyone know how I can access it? |
