There are lots of variations of the sassor aka sasser worm. WinXP
will restore itself and the worm and that may be what is happening.
You can find instructions on how to stop the restore at several sites
such as www.nod32.com . C;lick on Win32/Sassor.A-C and at the bottom
of the worm discription you will see a link "here"
http://www.nod32.com/support/ans/8g.htm
that will tell you how to turn off ME & XP's restore. After you turn
off Restore you can remove the virus. You can also use Find to make
sure that various sassor .exe files are gone. You will find antivirus
experts and researchers at alt.comp.virus who are very helpful and may
know why your are having this problem and perhaps how to fix it.

You might be able to purchase an new restore CD for your machine from
the manufacturer so I would try their support people.

Seems like an awful lot of work. But my problem has grown, Money is
not the only thing affected. MSWord also wants the cd if I try to run
it. Now I use this, so I guess if I don't find my cd's I'm screwed
blue. This all started after I was infected and cleaned of the sassor
and a lot of adware. I might try to used the system restore.
Thanks for your time and responses.

I wonder if
http://support.microsoft.com/default...13&Product=mny
would be the solution. I suggest paying attention to the backup
parts too.

Have you tried going into Money--perhaps by opening the Sample data
file--and turning off Money Express? (I'd cite the path, it's in
Tools|Options somewhere, but I don't have a copy handy.) I'm wondering if
that will kill this message until you actually use the application.

Been there tried that. Money is listed, but I still get the same
result. It wants the CD before it goes any further. Click cancel
and the uninstall aborts.

I do have the disks somewhere, (Application restore cd's) but my
teenage daughter and her infinite wisdom has misplaced them.

Anything I try to do pops up the window, very frustrating. I have
to click cancel 4 to 6 times before it goes away.

It sounds like Money must have come pre-installed on your machine by the
OEM. Have you tried Add/Remove programs?!?

Default How do you uninstall Money2002 without having the CD?

Hello,

I'm using WindowsXP

Everytime I try to open a winodw I get a popup from
Money 2002 saying "the feature you are trying to use
is on a CDROM or other removable media"
I'm not trying to use a Money2002 feature. I'm just trying
to open IE or explorer. I don't even use Money. How do
I uninstall or keep this box from popping up?
