BTW make sure that you import all accounts into the new version at the same
time. It avoids transfers being double counted - use CTRL + click when asked
which file to import.

Art,

Being based outside US, I probably would have difficulty
getting a US version.. I'm not going to buy the
application twice..
So I'm doing step 2) currently as you suggest.
It's considerable pain as I do have multiple accounts..
It will require considerable skill to make everything
balance and meant re opening previously closed accounts to
ensure all transactions are transferred intact..

Some Investment accounts didnt transfer properly at all...
anyhow.. there's no way back now.. So I'll plough on..

thnx for advice.

You have two choices,

1) you could buy a copy of US version of Money 2004 to install and
continue to use, or

2) you cn follow the directions on the MS web site which would have you
export QIF files of all of your accounts and import them into Money
2004. This is a considerable job if you have multiple accounts.

Hi,
Today I purchase Msmoney 4 and have attempted
unsuccesfully to open my MsMoney98 mny file.
The "conversion" process stated it could not open from
the original format. That's why I'm concerned re your
reply to a previous contributor.

As My MSMONEY98 version came as a software disk with my
US purchased laptop, and Now I've installed an Ireland
Msmoney 4.0 version on a new XP based system, can I
assume by your reply below, that there is no solution at
all for me, now ?

I would expect some sort of a converter to be available
even if it is rudimentary

Could I export Msmoney98 to Quicken/other and import on
an account by account basis...

thanks in advance...

Default Money 97 USA vs. Money 2004 INTL

I have the Money 97 USA version. I opened my Money file
with Money 2004 UK trial version and it works. But is
there any issue about the change of language version?

I just purchased a Money 2004 Standard. Origin:Ireland.
Reference: Money 2004 Win 32 English INTL NOT TO UK
Will this version work with my Money 5 (1997) files or
should I return the unopened box?

Thanks
