Each account you export FROM will create a separate QIF file.> file set up to export my accounts to? That's > the "destination" that I've been trying to get my accounts > to. You do have to have a file to import TO. That can be a new or existing Money file. In your case I think it is an existing file that you want to integrate the exported data to. Remember to keep an extra copy of the file you are importing to, in case you don't like the result for some reason. |

| I don't, either, but let's see if I can help anyway. File|Export exports account information from your Money data file to separate files one account at a time. File|Import allows you to select multiple of these exported files and import them simultaneously. The "destination directory" is the folder you want the exported account files to be stored in. My Documents should be fine. "Roberta" <anonymous[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:1b9a901c45000$8e5ae480$a001280a[at]phx.gbl... - quote - > I don't know what I'm doing wrong. | I don't know what I'm doing wrong. In the help section, it says to click on the "destination directory". I don't really know what that is so that may be where my problem lies. It worked once but I have no idea how I did it. Am I correct in that when you import, it's only for files. You must export accounts? - quote - > -----Original Message----- > To what Bob wrote, I'd add: make sure there are no Money Account name > conflicts. | To what Bob wrote, I'd add: make sure there are no Money Account name conflicts. Two separate Checking accounts in two separate files will make a royal mess if you QIF Export/Import one of them into the other file. If this is the case, rename one of the accounts first. Oh, and ALWAYS keep copies of the files from before you start to do these kinds of things in case things don't go as you intended. | Use export/import for the relevant accounts in Loose QIF format. When importing make sure to bring in all accounts at the one time to avoid transfers being double counted. (Use CTRL + click when asked which files to import). -- Regards Bob Peel, Microsoft MVP - Money For UK tips & fixes see http://support.microsoft.com/default...d=fh;EN-GB;mny. | I have two different MS Money files. I want to take some accounts from one and some accounts from the other and make them a part of one file. I already created the new file but I can't figure out how to move the accounts into the new file. Please help. Roberta |
