Nice freebie. Works with almost any app that will print.

Default UPDATE: What was Microsoft thinking?

I just spoke with Microsoft, and here is the scoop.....

1) You can't send or export an image of the invoice as it prints using Money
alone. You'll need to print to a 3rd party package like SnagIt or Adobe and
then send your saved image on your own. (Translation = "We were too stupid
to think that through, and are too lazy to change it.")

2) Money doesn't fill in the "To:" email address in Outlook (like so many
smaller companies' programs do). (Translation = "The email you entered in
business information is just busy work for you. It does no good in Money.
We never thought you'd actually email an invoice, even though we put that
function in our menus.")

3) You can't change an existing template, without having it place the
invoice on the OPPOSITE paper layout that you chose (i.e. changed, saved
portrait templates will print and preview on Landscape paper and changed,
saved landscape templates will show and print as portrait pages).
(Translation - "Damn! We didn't see that one....and no, we won't fix it." -
But, to the MS rep's credit, she did find a work around for this one......in
print preview mode, switch the layout to the layout you wish to change using
"Change print setup", then go into the Invoice Designer but select "Create
New Template" instead of "Open existing template", give it a name, choose
your layout (portrait or landscape). The layout you switched to (the one
you originally wanted to edit) will show onscreen. Edit and save your new
template. Now, your new template will behave as you desired the edited
template to. Editing templates just doesn't work.)

Good thing is that you have 30 days to request a refund.

I suspect they were thinking about how many copies of Money * Business they
are going to sell at how much gross profit per copy and how that related to
the cost of developing anything fancier.

Default What was Microsoft thinking?

Let's take printing an invoice from Microsoft Money 2004 Small
Business...Why can't you send an invoice in the same graphical format that
you see when you print out an invoice? That text stuff looks amatuerish and
is easily tampered with. Maybe a BMP or (GASP) a JPEG......even a Word DOC
file would be better than plain text.

And....when you select Send Invoice To......Mail Recipient *, why doesn't
Money fill out the To field in Outlook? MS wrote them both.....let's work
with it people!

Speaking of Outlook, why isn't there an option to auto-capture email
addresses to Contacts?
