| I only have one QIF file to import. I've only used Quicken to keep track of my checking. When I import a QIF, transactions are horribly out of order. For example, what might be in Quicken as: 1/1/2004 DEP Payroll 1000.00 1000.00 1/1/2004 3154 Daycare 300.00 700.00 1/1/2004 EFT Cable 60.00 640.00 might show up in Money as: 1/1/2004 3154 Daycare 300.00 - 300.00 1/1/2004 EFT Cable 60.00 - 360.00 1/1/2004 DEP Payroll 1000.00 640.00 Yeah, the ending balance may be the same, but I just don't like the color red in a financial program. Is the disorder just something inherent in the QIF? - quote - > -----Original Message----- > In microsoft.public.money, Dan Wilson wrote: .... > > So I exported my Quicken stuff as a QIF. ...I saw that a lot of the > > information was out of order, which was causing a lot of > > negative balnces to show up. This is done by selecting using Ctrl+<click> to highlight all of the files you want including. Further, before doing the import, the QIF files containing the investment cash accounts should be named something alphanumerically higher than the investment transactions of the account. So you could have "Merrill" and "Merrill Cash", but you would not want "Merrill Inv" and "Merrill Cash". "_Merrill Inv" and "Merrill Cash" would be good. So one way around this is to export investment accounts to files who's name starts with an underscore. - quote - > Is there any easier way to get my Quicken information

| Dan Before using Money 2004 to convert your Quicken files, did you Validate the Quicken files? (Quicken - File:File Operations:Validate) I validated my Quicken XG files before converting to Money 2004 and everything went very smoothly, but the validate procedure did find and skip/fix a couple of file errors. | I've tried to convert my Quicken 2004 information to Money 2004. After searching the newsgroups, I found that Money 2004 won't import Q2004 files. So I exported my Quicken stuff as a QIF. Money started but crashed. Before it did, I saw that a lot of the information was out of order, which was causing a lot of negative balnces to show up. I'm not THAT bad off. Almost, but not quite. Is there any easier way to get my Quicken information into Money without having to do a lot of reorganinzing and detective work to get it all sorted out? Thanks. |
