Default Re: Credits showing up as Charges

Are you sure the account thinks you owe the bank money and not the other way
around? What is the account balance shown at the bottom of the register
view?

Default Credits showing up as Charges

Help.

I'm using Microsoft Money 2002. I recently added a new
credit card account and download the statements
electronically.

I do not use Bill Pay, but use my checking account to pay
off the balance every month. I record these payments as
a "credit card payment" for the appropriate account. The
payment then shows up in my Credit Card account and I
have two duplicate transactions.

I didn't know what to do, so I've been deleting one and
keeping the other. The one I've been keeping is the one
transferred in from my checking account.

Here's my problem:

Although these payments show up in the Credit Column in
my Credit Card Account, Money is not subtracting the
amount from my balance. It's adding to it! Basically,
it's treating these payments as charges, even though they
show up in the Credit Column.

Any ideas? Also, if anyone has any ideas how to handle
the duplicate transactions, I'd like to hear about it.

Thanks,

K
