Be aware that those are normally set up as type Bond rather than CD.

Bonds are quoted as a percent of par/face value.

That didn't work for the municipal in question, but it did set me on
The Path to Success. Instead of a ReinvestInterest transaction to
account for the increase in the worth of the municipal (which Money
balked at), I was able to use a second Add Shares. Then, for the
redemption of bond with its increased value, I was able to now use a
Redeem CD/Bond.

Thanks again for your help, Cal. I would have been bald from hair
pulling otherwise.

No, actually, municipals and treasuries.

I'll try this out on the municipal in question. Thanks for your reply.

I am going to guess that you are talking about US Savings Bonds
rather than muni/listed/etc bonds.

I think you want to first add a ReinvestInterest transaction to
account for the increase in the worth. Then your Sell should work.

Default Problem Handling a Bond Redemption

I've found it quite difficult to manage bonds in Money 2004. To add
some contributed bonds, I had to use "Add Shares," which is not a very
accurate label for adding bonds as opposed to stocks. The real
problem, however, emerged when one of the bonds was redeemed. Money
2004 has a "Redeem CD/Bond" transaction, but I can't get it to work.
The error message I keep getting is "The changes you are making will
cause the share balance for 'Bond X' to become negative at some point.
Please arrange your transactions to avoid this."

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get this redemption to work?
