I deleted the offending categories and reinstated. The number went away.

Repairing was no help.

The file-> menu file list is stored in the registry. There's no automatic
clean up apart from when you open new files, the bottom one drops off the
list.

The amount in question came from a paycheck I got on March 15. It was part
of a split which I have since changed to remove the splits. I have deleted
the entry and re-entered it with the correct category, but no change. The
only place the number shows up is in the Current month's Budgeted items.

Maybe I messed something up and accidentally reallocated it or something but
now I can't find the little devil to delete it. I haven't even tried to
figure out where the $12000 came from but I guess I will keep looking for
it.

It's probably 'hiding' in the next month's budget. If you wish to change the
existing month, then you'll need to reallocate funds, rather than change the
bill item.

Default Where is Budget amount hiding?

Using Money 2004:

I have a budget category, call it widgets, that shows a budgeted amount of
$12,000. When I go to review your budget status and click on expenses, the
Widget category shows $0 budgeted. If I check the budget details, for
widgets it shows $12000.

If I click "View Transactions" nothing shows up.

If I click on "Edit", it says "A bill in this category" is
Widget($4000/Monthly). If I click OK (to edit) nothing comes up.

I believe this information might be from an earlier bill that was changed
(or deleted) and is no longer available. Where is it hiding? Does this
require a "Repair"

Along the same type of thing under the file menu. I had some earlier files
I deleted, but they remain listed under the File menu, and do not disappear
when an attempt to access is made and no such file found. Why are they not
deleted automatically, or what do I need to do to remove the listing?

Thanks,
Clark
