But still get things like "Chevron Los Angeles", or "Chevron Long Beach", etc. Then of course there is problem with the bank changing the payee names every six months or so. So one month the Payee name might be "SBC Phone Bill Payment". Then few months later it starts showing up as "SBC Ph Bil Pmnt", etc. Just seems like implementing wild cards to pick out the payee name would be a simple enough thing to do. Matt |

| Nope no solution.....I just hope next version of Money will implement wild cards. Until then, I have to manually select the Payee for every imported transaction. Same thing happens with things like "Chevron 00342" and "Chevron 33410". I just want them all to import as "Chevron". Hopefully someone at MS is listening. | Matt, I am having the same issues. Have you found a solution? | My bank now lists all my check card transactions like this: INTERLINK NETWORK TRANS 613 ON 05-12 CUSTOMER 9355148314 PAYMENT TO SAFEWAY STORE 17 LINCOLN CA Is there any way to get Money 2004 to import this as "Safeway". I've tried adding various things to the Payee Rules and Preferred Payee names, but can't seem to get it to import these correctly. It would sure make things much simpler if MS would allow us to use wildcards in the Preferred Payee Names. Then could just enter "*Safeway*" or "*Chevron*", etc. and all these would be correctly imported. Does Quicken work any better with something like this? Unfortunately, I'm having to manually enter each and every transaction Payee name which is unacceptable. Matt |
