| Please accept my apologies if this issue has been addressed here before. About a year ago, I switched to MS Money after being a Quicken user since the DOS/Chipsoft days (I'm fed up with Intuit.long story that I'm sure you' ve all heard before from many others). Overall, I like MS Money in many ways better than Quicken. However, one issue that I can't seem to figure out is the way MS Money deals with downloaded transactions. The problem I'm having is that Money will occasionally match a downloaded transaction with another payee already entered somewhere in the register that happens to be for the same amount. For example, if I pay for a meal at the Ming Tree Restaurant with my debit card, when money downloads the transaction it might match it with Bud's Tires, if the amount happens to be the same. Sometimes, Money will match up a downloaded transaction with a totally dissimilar transaction. In this case, I made an online payment to Silkies (a company that sells pantyhose via mail order.my wife's been using them for years). The amount of this transaction was $39.89. However, Money matched it up with a Walgreen's transaction for $40.00. Yes, I know I Money gives me the option to separate the transactions, but I don't understand why it matched them up in the first place. Can anyone shed any light on what's going on here? Many thanks in advance! ![]() |
