| I have a PayPal account set up similar to a checking account. Purchases via PayPal are payments from this account, and have the proper category "Computer Gear" or whatever. Payments received via PayPal are credits to this account, and, again, have the proper category "Computer Gear" or whatever. Transfers between the PayPal account and my funding checking or credit cards are just that, transfers and handled as usual. Before I set up the PayPal account in Money, and PayPal was just a Payee used in other accounts, I had the same problems. This makes it much easier, and easier to manage all the eBay/PayPal fees, too. Good luck - John "Dean" <No_Person[at]NoISP.com> wrote in message news:c835r4$v6b$1[at]news7.svr.pol.co.uk... - quote - > "Bonnie Synhorst --MVP" <bjclarinet[at]hotmail.com> wrote in message > news:%23tccnwcOEHA.628[at]TK2MSFTNGP11.phx.gbl... > > How do you get the money paid to you via PayPal? The money paid to me is transferred directly into my PayPal account. I can> checkings or savings account? then use this money for my own payments or transfer (withdraw) this money into a bank account. But this is the problem. If I sell an item on eBay and someone pays me byfrom > PayPal, or put a notation in the memo field. PayPal their money is paid directly into my PayPal account. But if I buy an item using PayPal one of two possibilities occurs: 1. If there are sufficient funds in my PayPal account the money is transferred into the sellers PayPal account. 2. If there are insufficient funds in my PayPal account the payment is debited from my credit card. So should I enter the transaction as a PayPal payment or a credi card payment? Thanks for your comments. Dean - quote - > "Dean" <No_Person[at]NoISP.com> wrote in message > news:c82ggg$g1t$1[at]newsg3.svr.pol.co.uk... > > I'm a new Money user (2003 ed.) | How do you get the money paid to you via PayPal? Is it deposited into a checkings or savings account? I would lean toward entering the transactions into the accounts they are deposited into and categorize them as being from PayPal, or put a notation in the memo field. | I'm a new Money user (2003 ed.) Can someone advise me how to deal with an eBay PayPal account? I was initially showing PayPal payments made on eBay through my credit card account but this doesn't work for payments received. I assume I would be better setting up a separate PayPal account in Money but how do I work this with my credit card account? If this query is dealt with in an FAQ can someone point me to it? Thanks.
