| I am using Windows XP and as far as I can tell, I have given write access to the file and the whole string of directories affected. The only way I know of permitting write access is to ensure the "read only" box is not checked. Is there something else I should be checking as well? I take it from your response that it should be possible to access a ,mny file on a separate computer through a network. Thanks for the help. | Do you have write access to that network directory? Money will create a lock file in the same directory, so requires write access to the directory as well as the file itself. Try creating a file remotely on the drive and look to see the owner that is defined on the file. This will ensure you have the correct permissions. Check also the permissions of the share. On some systems (not sure about 2000), the default share permission is for everyone to have read access. -- Glyn Simpson, Microsoft MVP - Money Check http://support.microsoft.com/default...d=fh;EN-GB;mny for UK tips and fixes for MS Money. | I have three computers on a network with a money 2000 file and application on one computer that I would like to access from another. I can find the file through the network, but if I try to open it, I simply get an error message stating the file is not accessible. I have the folder and drive the file is stored in, shared, but for some reason it will not access it . Any ideas as to what is wrong? Thanks DGD |
