The OFX format is rather obscure. Some FIs use newline characters.
Others do not. If the file is OFX version 2, that is XML compatible
and can be viewed with IE6. Otherwise it can be helpful to change
all "<" characters into newline+"<" with a text editor for easier
viewing.

You can identify dates as starting with "<DT" and having a number in
yyyymmdd format with possibly some more numbers for hhmmss.

The OFX specs are available at ofx.net.

Since you may not remember to do that beforehand, you could restore
a backup (perhaps to a different Money file name) and Connect again.
That should get a download of transactions that had not been
included in the backup.

Thanks for the quick reply Cal,

One reason is my bank has a far better record with their software. I have
NEVER had an error when it comes to transactions on my online bank account.
I cannot say the same with MS software.

So, while I doubt this is the case, I am willing to explore this. How do I
prove the transactions were in fact downloaded? Is there a file I can look
at somehow? Even if the transaction download does work in the future, it
doesn't actually prove which side started behaving.

It is happening again!

I cleared out temporary internet files, I ran msmoney with the -s option to
rebuild the files. Downloading files from the back shows that the download
was successful, but no transactions show up in the registry.

What is going on here? Why does this keep happening? Does anyone have any
workaround or solution please?
