| To be precise, I just reminded myself of this whole process on a test file. Do you see the email address on the Welcome Money password sign-in screen with the "Type your Microsoft Passport sign-in name..." prompt? If so, login. (If you've changed the name at Passport and not in Money, you may have to login using the offline mode.) If not, then we aren't communicating about what your problem really is and you need to be much more explicit about where you are seeing the email address you want to change. If so, continue: If you go into File|Password Manager, on the File Password Settings tab, you should see Passport sign-in is enabled for... and Change... Click on Change... Select Disable Money's Passport features. Click on Next. Click on the Disable this Passport for use in Money check box. Click Finish. Click OK to have no passwords at all. Exit Money. Restart Money. You should get this really annoying thing about setting up sign in security. Select Yes; Yes, I want to use a Passport; Use an existing Passport. Click Next. Enter the new email address/Passport sign-in name and its password. Click Next. If we are talking about the same thing, this should be all there is to it. | Did you remove the Passport from the Money file using File|Password Manager, exit Money, restart Money--not needing a password at all this time--and go back into File|Password Manager to associate the file with the newly named (new email address) Passport account? I guess I'm also curious: where is it that you are seeing this email address? I'm assuming this is with the Passport associated with the file, but am beginning to wonder if we are just failing to communicate about something else like some kind of ebanking/epayment setup in Money that has nothing to do with Passport access authentication. | Thank you for your advice. I really do appreciate it. I have followed your instructions and my new email address is listed in the passport profile. Yet, when I log on with Money2004 the old address is still listed though. I have done pretty much the same thing a couple of months ago and still had the old email address as a result. This is why I have asked the same question again. So, again I thank you for taking the time to give me the instructions. | Hi, I have changed my email address and would need to change it in Money2004. (OS: WinXP Home SP1) I would like to keep my password. Is there any way to do it? I have looked at all the options but can't find a way to do it. Any help you can give me will be very much appreciated. Ann |
