| Hello Dick, I tried that, sort of, and it worked. It turns out I only have to enter a dummy BUY trade in the account for the shares in question. It only has to be a quantity of 1 share and it will then allow me to pick from the 2 lots on offer to sell. I then pick the transferred in lot and everything works. I then delete the dummy. Everything then looks ok. Just a bit of a workaround. Is this a program fault?. Another slightly off topic question - when I do a report of the portfolio transactions, the trade price is only displayed to 2 decimal places eg $0.13, and rounds any 3 decimal places share prices to 2 decimal places eg $0.133 ends up $0.13. Is their a setting to change this?. You could right-click on the existing account in the account list. Money will show performance separately after the move. I would prefer to just change the account details. Right-click See Account Details. Change the Institution, Account Name, etc. |

| Taking the transaction history shouldn't matter--what should matter is what Money thinks the share balance is in the receiving account. There may be something else going on here. Try creating a huge buy, dated before the transfer, in the receiving account of the transfer. Like, say, 10,000,000 shares. Then try entering your sale. Then try deleting the huge buy. | I have changed my stock broker and want to transfer my share portfolio to my new broker (account). How can I do this?. I have tried the account transfer and the transfer out functions but they don't take the transaction details across, so that when I try to sell the shares I get an error telling me I don't have enough shares in the account to sell. I am using MS Money international V2003. How can I transfer the share transaction completely so I can then enter a sell transaction in the new account??? Thanks Matt |
