| This is the same computer that you were using before with Money03? And all you did was install Money04? You say you find "new ones" from Money04? Like which ones? A Money installation only installs one .MNY file. I am still not sure that I know what you are trying to do.> I cannot find any *.mny or *.mbt(backup) files on my > system other than the new ones from 2004 version. If/when Money 2004 converted your Money 2003 file, it left a copy of the Money 2003 file named *.m11 . You can copy that to a *.mny filename and open it with Money 2003. A money backup file is *.mbf |

| Nothing is ever simple with computers, I am afraid. I cannot find any *.mny or *.mbt(backup) files on my system other than the new ones from 2004 version. I am afraid the links/entries for the 2003 files are gone. Do you have any advice on using other software to possibly find "lost files"? Thank you for your help. | Do a Windows Explorer search for files by type "Microsoft Money Files". They should be out there somewhere. When you find the one you want, double-click on its icon--Money04 should take over and upgrade the data file. See also http://umpmfaq.info/faqdb.php?q=109. You installed Money 2004, but Money created a new empty file. You> have any ideas how to recover the 2003 file(s), if at all > possible? want to use the old file with Money 2004. You can use File-> Open to select the file that you want Money to use. |

| My Money 2004 did NOT link to my Money 2003 system. Anyone have any ideas how to recover the 2003 file(s), if at all possible? Thank you. |
