This is the same computer that you were using before with Money03? And all
you did was install Money04?

You say you find "new ones" from Money04? Like which ones? A Money
installation only installs one .MNY file.

I am still not sure that I know what you are trying to do.

If/when Money 2004 converted your Money 2003 file, it left a copy of
the Money 2003 file named *.m11 . You can copy that to a *.mny
filename and open it with Money 2003.

A money backup file is *.mbf

Nothing is ever simple with computers, I am afraid.
I cannot find any *.mny or *.mbt(backup) files on my
system other than the new ones from 2004 version. I am
afraid the links/entries for the 2003 files are gone. Do
you have any advice on using other software to possibly
find "lost files"?
Thank you for your help. Mario

Do a Windows Explorer search for files by type "Microsoft Money Files". They
should be out there somewhere. When you find the one you want, double-click
on its icon--Money04 should take over and upgrade the data file.

You installed Money 2004, but Money created a new empty file. You
want to use the old file with Money 2004.

You can use File-> Open to select the file that you want Money to
use.

Default 2003 file(s) lost when upgrading to 2004(Money)

My Money 2004 did NOT link to my Money 2003 system. Anyone
have any ideas how to recover the 2003 file(s), if at all
possible?
Thank you.
