| Why would it be wrong? You know the old saying, "if it ain't broke." The bottom line is if it does what you want it to do then be happy. UPGRADING can be a pain as these new programs have so many bugs. I run 2001 MM and I am not about to try their latest version with all the prohblems I read about on here. My works super and never had a problem. (knocking on wood) If you do decide to upgrade, GOOD LUCK! William A. | What were the incompatible products? Did you uninstall BOTH bits of Money 04 from add/remove programs (the program itself and the system pack). It is possible to run 04 and 98 alongside each other too , but I guess you installed 04 over 98? Make sure you have a copy of your .MNY file safe, then uninstall 98. Delete the c:\program files\microsoft money directory and reboot. Then install it again (into a new directory if you want to) and try again. -- Glyn Simpson, Microsoft MVP - Money Check http://support.microsoft.com/default...d=fh;EN-GB;mny for UK tips and fixes for MS Money. | Sounds like you need to check the Customized date options on the report in question. Also, still using M98 is not "wrong". But it may not be wise. M98 was the single buggiest versions ever, in my experience. It also is increasingly unsupported and the single most important patch ever released for it has been removed from Microsoft servers. | I began using Money 98 back in fall of 97, I believe, and to this day, have refused to upgrade my Money program to the newer versions. I believe I tried Money 2000 at one time and hated thje format and found it confusing over my Money 98. So I have stuck with it every year. Every Jan 1st I go to main page ( after backing up on Cd rom), and delete my banking info. then put back in my banking info (new) , this then starts me off fresh for jan 1st with balance in my accounts ,and all my bill paying options are still there for the start of hte new year. Now my problem is, today(2004) when I want to run a "report", I get dates of jan 2000 to 2001, and the message of " there is no data available. Question: IF I download a version of Money 2004, will the transfer of my 4 months of info go smoothly? and is 2004 more friendlier to use than the predessor of 2000???? please reply to ttodd0450[at]hotmail.com |
