Yes, but it is not accessible the same way. Money with Start-> Run and enter "msmoney -s" without the quotes into the box -- assuming the version you are trying to work with is the most recently installed. If not, you can specify the full path to the version you are wanting to open. |

| Does the "Repair Money File" option apply to Money 2002? I don't see it. I did clear all of my internet files and run the salvage utility from the KB article referenced in your previous post, but this didn't help anything. The downloaded transaction that I had deleted has started showing in the register again (this happened before I tried the suggested steps), but I still can't accept the transaction. I do appreciate the time you've spent trying to help me. Thanks! | I thought I'd just delete the transaction that won't reconcile. Apparently that wasn't a good idea either. The transaction doesn't show any more, but MS Money insists I have an unread transaction. | The downloaded salvage utility didn't help either. Now, I've just restored a 3-week-old backup and started re-reconciling transactions and re-balancing accounts. I've run into what seems to be another annoying bug... I have a downloaded transaction that I can't Accept. I click the Accept button but it's like I'm not clicking anything. I right click the transaction and select Accept and still nothing happens. I've been using MS Money for years... I've never been this frustrated with the desktop application (though there was an extended time when the PPC version was equally as frsustrating / useless). | Do you have an older backup? A corrupt file can create a corrupt backup. | Thanks for your assistance, and yes, I am using Money 2002. When I run 'msmoney -s', MS Money opens and starts "repairing" the file. It gives the message: C:\xxx.mny is corrupted or is not a Money data file. Make sure you are opening a file with an MNY extension. If you have chosen the correct file and it could not be accessed, you will need to open your most recent backup file to access your data. When I click OK, MS Money continues opening the file, but the problem with my balance remains. Using a backup doesn't improve anything. Try opening Money with Start-> Run and entering> The difference in the wrong balance and the correct balance is the amount of > my previous statement balance. "msmoney -s" without the quotes into the box. Reconfiming you are using Money 2002 as you state in the subject. |

| I'm having a problem with a credit card account showing the wrong balance. The difference in the wrong balance and the correct balance is the amount of my previous statement balance. When I click "balance this account", what MS Money shows as the amount owed last month is actually double what was owed. The Account List screen always overstates the balance by the amount owed last month. When viewing the register transactions, if I have it set to only show unreconcile transactions (my preferred view), the balance is overstated by the amount owed last month. If I change the account transaction view to show all transactions, the balance shows correctly. However, the Account List screen is still incorrect in this case. I can't figure out how to correct this. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks. |
