| Thanks for the feedback Jim and Glynn. I had correctly done everything that you suggested on the initial install, except a "complete" install, thinking that the audio and video options applied only to tutorials etc. I was wrong and on completing the "complete" install everything regarding sounds works as advertised. Thanks again.... | If you are using money 2004 with windows xp in a user account you need to install money in that user account so it can make the proper entries in the registry for that user - then you will have the sounds. Hope I've understood what you are looking for here. | It's probably worth reinstalling Money over itself and see whether these entries turn up. Did you uninstall 95 before installing 2004 at all? are you using the boxed product or one downloaded? The Audio and Multimedia can be downloaded at http://www.microsoft.com/money/info/...ia/default.asp - not sure whether you could install this, but worth a try. | Thanks Art. Are there any MVP's out there who could help with discovering why there are no entries for Money in Control Panel/Sounds and Audio Devices/Sounds. In Money 2004 you can get there directly from Money Tools/Options/General/Sounds/Change Sounds. Norm Art McClinton wrote: - quote - > I am surprised. | I am surprised. I am running Win XP Home SP1, Money 2004 Delux which I upgraded from prior editions. You are correct that you can get to the same system sounds folder for all of the system sounds from inside Money. I had never tried it, but it is reasonable that MS would allow different ways to get to the same point. When I scan down this list I find various program headers including Money. Do not know why you do not find them. If you do not have a money section in this list of sounds, I assume that this is now a question for an MVP. Art Norm wrote: - quote - > Thanks for the reply Art. | Thanks for the reply Art. My OS is WIN XP Home SP1, all critical updates current. Your suggestion is precisely what I tried initially but there are no entries for Money in Control Panel/Sounds and Audio Devices/Sounds. In Money 2004 you can get there directly from Money Tools/Options/General/Sounds/Change Sounds. Is there an installation option I missed? Any other suggestions? | Although Money parameters turn on whether sounds are played, the actual sounds are stored in the system level. So go to the Start and select control panel. In the control panel select "Sounds" (slightly different name and location depending upon which operating system. scroll down the sounds until you find Money and the "enter transaction" you can then change it to any sound you wish. You can even enter new sounds or copy the ones from your old machine.
