| Thanks Bob! I didn't realize I wouldn't lose data. I'll try the uninstall/reinstall over the weekend, and be sure to have good backups all around. | Uninstall/reinstall won't affect your data. That is all safely tucked away in, typically, MyMoney.mny. That is why I was suggesting you make an extra copy of that file. -- Regards Bob Peel, Microsoft MVP - Money For UK tips & fixes see http://support.microsoft.com/default...d=fh;EN-GB;mny. | Bob, Thanks for the very fast reply! I don't really want to uninstall/reinstall - particularly with 2+ yrs of data associated with the program. I think of uninstalling/reinstalling as a last resort, akin to the brain surgery involved in registry editing. ![]() I know it won't be that bad but I'm pouting. Just off hand, if I upgraded to MS 2004, would that solve the issue? Curious, Julie - quote - > -----Original Message----- > There was a problem about a month ago whereby M2002 grabbed an update > intended for M2004. > The fix was to uninstall Money & reinstall in a different directory (some > people found using the same directory was OK). > You could try this. | There was a problem about a month ago whereby M2002 grabbed an update intended for M2004. The fix was to uninstall Money & reinstall in a different directory (some people found using the same directory was OK). You could try this. Make sure that you have good backups and indeed copy your *.mny file to another directory (just to be safe). -- Regards Bob Peel, Microsoft MVP - Money For UK tips & fixes see http://support.microsoft.com/default...d=fh;EN-GB;mny. | Microsoft Money 2002 Has been running fine until about a month ago. Periodically, the following series of error messages pops up: 1) Microsoft Money 2002 System Pack The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package "SYSPACK.MSI" in the box below. ....the box below offers a)C:\DELLL\8H391\ and a dropdown offer of Please insert the MOney 2002 disc. 2) Microsoft Money 2002 System Pack Error 1706. No valid source could be found for Microsoft Money 2002 System Pack. The Windows Installer cannot continue. This seems to occur whenever I start any program -- IE, Outlook, or programs other than Microsoft also. For example, when I start Earthlink, this series of messages pops up and I have to click the X to get it to stop. Sometimes the series runs 2 or 3 times in a row. I am up-to-date with Money 2002. Windows XP Home Norton Anti-Virus is up-to-date Have run Spybot S&D and Ad-Aware Thanks! Julie cyesjuls[at]earthlink.net jawallac27[at]hotmail.com |
