| Well, you could try reinstalling Money through the Remote Desktop with the permissions you have -that would at least ensure the file has the permissions it expects. -- Glyn Simpson, Microsoft MVP - Money Check http://support.microsoft.com/default...d=fh;EN-GB;mny for UK tips and fixes for MS Money. I changed the permissions as you described, but no change in behavior. I'm thinking Money 2004 is accessing a .dll in the /system32 directory that it needs write access to. The .dll writing was a problem common with installing Office 97 on the (then) new NT 4.0 WTS Edition. Problem is - which .dll is Money 2004 trying to access? - Tom |

| You might need to change one of the permissions on Remote Desktop. If you go to the terminal services configuration on the remote machine, select the 'connections' option, and right click on the connection type you are using (possibly RDP-Tcp). Select properties and then the 'permissions' tab. Make sure the account you are using has User Access (if it already has, change it to 'Full Control'). -- Glyn Simpson, Microsoft MVP - Money Check http://support.microsoft.com/default...d=fh;EN-GB;mny for UK tips and fixes for MS Money. | I have Windows XP Professional and Microsoft Money 2004. When I am at the computer, I am able to launch Microsoft Money 2004 and open my Money data file without error. When I connect to the computer through remote desktop and try to access that data file, Money 2004 always reports I have typed in an incorrect password. When I try to create a new money data file through the remote connection, Money 2004 reports the new file cannot be created. If I login as the administrator, I am able to open Money and the data file without error both on the computer and remotely. It seems clear there is some permission issue going on, but the moeny data file is owned by me. I have changed the permissions on all the Money 2004 files to give full control to the Power Users group (which I belong to), but matching the Administrators group access rights, but still no success. Any help would be greatly appreciated. - Tom Smith |
