I agree with Cal's suggestion and his reasoning. It will 99% sever the
relationship between the two Money files, but you will still find a few
of the tables will exist between the two accounts. This is from
experience and a call to Microsoft. The biggest one is the table used to
auto change payee names from bank downloads.

Two ways work.

One way is to make a copy of your Money file under a new name, and
strip out all of the stuff you don't want there. Since there might
be residue you might not be aware of, I would tend away from that
option. But you might like that way.

The other way is to File-> Export the two accounts each into a loose
QIF file.

Create a new file for the club with File-> New.

Then File-> Import the two QIF files into the new file. In the
process select BOTH files for import at the same time by using
Ctrl+<click> to select the files at the same time. That way
transfers between those two accounts should be recognized as
transfers rather than separate transactions.

This would be a good time to make an extra backup of your Money file
onto different media. Everybody should review their backup process
if they have not already done so.

Default copying accounts

I created a savings and checking account for a civic group
in my personal file months ago not thinking that civic
group's account would affect my personal stuff. But
sinced then I understand it does. How Do I copy the two
cin=vic group account to a new file without havving to
reenter all of the info manually?
