That is one way to do it. The other way is to not enter Buys and> money in the investment cash account. Sells for the Money Market Fund if the money is swept into the account. This is the easiest way to handle it if you are entering transactions by hand. So you would enter Buy and Sell for the stock fund and for the index fund. Entering Buy and Sell for the MMF is optional. If you download from your broker, then you should follow the method that the broker uses. By hand, you get a choice. - quote - > Is this correct?
So there is more that one correct way. I recommend downloading and> Is there a better way? following the broker's method. But also try to understand what these transactions mean in case the broker-downloaded data was not correct for some reason. |

| Hi, I'm new to Money 2004 and I'm trying to set up my investment accounts. I searched through the news groups and it sounds like I have to do the following if I want to xfer money from my checking to money market account. I have one account (same acct number) that has a index fund, money market and a stock fund. 1. Money help says to add the three accounts to the same investment account. 2. When I xfer money from my checking I have to xfer it to the cash account associated with the investment account. 3. I then have to buy shares in the Money market account using the money in the investment cash account. Is this correct? Is there a better way? Thanx jra |
