The better way may to handle this may involve doing a File-> Restore
to a point before you accepted Forest Laboratories as a new
investment. Do you have such a backup? If not, perhaps you should
also take the opportunity to review your backup strategy.

it?

This has happened four times to me and just happened again. I think
the source of the problem is that when I converted from Quicken to
Money my Security List was carried over in the conversion. Some of
the securities in Qucken did not have exactly the same name even
though the symbol, of course, was the same. Here is my deliemma.

1. Upon downloading transactions from my broker I have a buy for
Forest Labs (the old Qucken name). I have owned this stock
previously.
2. Money does not recognize the name since it is carried as Forest
Laboratories and not Forest Labs in the Money database.
3. Money asks me to pick the security out from the drop down list. It
is no where to be found as Forest Laboratories or Forest Labs. having
no other choice I click to accept the Forest Laboratories as a new
buy.
4. Money gives me a message that there is already an equity with the
same symbol so the symbol will have to be deleted from Forest Labs.

This leaves me with two accounts for Forest, one with the history and
a new one with the shares transferred in on a Buy and the symbol. The
latter will be updated as to price in the future.

Can anyone offer any suggestions of how to handle this? Before I just
had to manually reenter all the historical transactions into the new
(Forest Laboratories) and then delete old (Forest Labs) one.
