| Hey NTF, I posted the same question a little earlier than you, because this has stumped me for a few months. I called Money Customer Service and the woman was worthless. With everyone refinancing these days you would think they would have this built into the 2004 edition. In any event, I think I have the solve, I haven't tried it myself yet but let me know if it works. I was going to set up a loan with a balance of $1. Then go into the loan account and create a transaction crediting that $1. Then create an additional transaction for your refi-loan amount and in the split categories screen, apply all of your expenses and credit the transfer accounts for your previous mortgage. Your prior mortgage account should be zero and all financing expenses should be accounted for. Good luck! - quote - > -----Original Message----- > I hope someone out there has been through this and figured > it out. I'm trying to figure out the best way to record > our mortgage refinance. | I hope someone out there has been through this and figured it out. I'm trying to figure out the best way to record our mortgage refinance. If I simply set up a new mortgage account, it requires the loan amount and then I don't know how to show what that loan paid off. If I simply go in and change account details on the old loan, how do I show money used to pay off a second? I'm very confused as to the best way to do this and I appreciate any help. ntf |
