| FWIW, I run both Money and AdAware all the time. I always let AdAware delete absolutely everything it finds. Never had any problems. It could be something else... --- Alex Khain Portland, OR, USA (remove the digit from the reply address) |

| I agree. Lavasoft AdAware creates log files of all activity. Copy the .txt files in the Lavasoft\Ad-Aware\log directory to a diskette and have your tech person review it. The /quarantien directory contains backup files ( .bckp ) files so you can revert the changes. Don't panic... your problem can be resolved. arthur -------- On Wed, 14 Apr 2004 19:07:00 GMT, "Ken" wrote: - quote - > What do you think actually caused this problem? | What do you think actually caused this problem? Installing Ad-aware? Running Ad-aware? Running Ad-aware and having it make changes to your system? If Ad-aware made changes, it probably saved those changes somewhere where you can back them off. You might want to try backing off the changes and then figuring out exactly which change causes your problem. (The first time you run Ad-aware, it probably made lots of changes to delete all kinds of junk. Perhaps one of these changes was a mistake.) | Probably. And the problem started when you put Ad-aware on it. Somehow you'll need to get your company tech support personnel to configure it to allow you to use Money. Or, system restore back to before when you put it on your machine. Or, try reinstalling Money now to see whether it sorts itself out after reinstallation. -- Glyn Simpson, Microsoft MVP - Money Check http://support.microsoft.com/default...d=fh;EN-GB;mny for UK tips and fixes for MS Money. | In order to speed up my computer system and remove spyware, I loaded a software package called 'Ad-Aware' that my company tech support personnel gave me. Now that I have run it, my system is much faster but my MSM program no longer seems to recognize that a file has been downloaded. It used to pop up and ask me if I wanted to load the file, now it simply sits there. I have searched my hard drives for any qif files and have not found them either so it may be my bank's software that is causing the problem. But if you eliminate all the possibles, whatever is left must be the problem, right? .. |
