I had the same problem in money 2004. My fix was from the
home page was file, repair money file, quick file repair.
After the repair was run my balances are now correct. I

Have a good one for you folks out there. When I tried to open Money 2003 it came back saying it couldn't open from the location, please reinstall Money.
