OK Bob Peel, just how was I supposed to do the reinstall
WITHOUT THE F'ING DISK???? I tried. It didn't work. I
have read all the posts pertaining to this problem
a$$hole and without the f/u/c/k/ing disk it will not
reinstall.

I would think that another Internet Update would, sooner or later and maybe
Microsoft will need to sort all of this out first given the mess they just
created, get you all of the fixes Microsoft has released between the Money02
you have running and the Money02 they think you should be running.

You are correct sir re MVPs, and thanx for the reply. My Money 2002 is
working fine now with the re-install. There was a substantial update to
Money 2002 during July 2003. Do you know where this is available for
download, and whether it's worth installing? Thanx

I don't think any MVP would disagree with this. But none of then can make it
so.

p.s., I'm not an MVP.

Funny how the MVP have such a different take on this problem. It would have
been the right thing to do for Microsoft to show this issue as HOT on the
Money web site. I ran SETUP from my Money 2002 CD and selected REINSTALL
option, and used the same directory and 2002 works again. This uninstall,
reinstall into a different directory is so much bullshit: just reinstall it,
that's all; it copies everything from the CD and resets all the Money
registry stuff! I have had to do this several times during the time I have
been a Money 2002 user; it's a pain, but not a big deal if you have the CD.
Many folks don't, and a support call is such a royal pain in the a$$. I
think this is finally the last straw...I will spend my next $$$ on Quicken.
Enough's enough.

Bob, you're an sob! You should really lose the snotty
attitude. Why hasn't MS posted an update or info on
their "Money web site"??? There has been a total policy
of ignoring this problem at MS. We want to see something
official from MS, which acknowledges the problem, and
provides an easy download to fix their problem. We
shouldn't have to resort to watching this discussion
board (though I appreciate the troubles of fellow users).

The solution has been posted many times, particularly by Cal. Uninstall
M2002 to get rid of the unwanted M2004 update, reinstall M2002 into
different directory and all will be well.

If you had browsed the NG you could have saved yourself an awful lot of
work!

Default good-bye money 2002

It has been a over a week (mine died 2-14-04 PM) since MS
trashed Money 2002 and still no fix. I do not have the
disk. I found Money 2003 and Quicken 2003 on my wife's
notebook. I spent a good part of the weekend loading my
back-up disk into Money 03, then changing every account,
classification, and payee name that was over 15
characters to 15 or less. Then exported the accounts as
QIF files and importing them into Quicken 03. I backed up
the files to disk and loaded the back-up disk to Quicken
Premier 2004 on my desktop PC. I now have my checking,
savings, and investment accounts back. I need to
straighten out a few things, but over all I am back up
and running. I would like to thank all the posters to
this forum for all their help in trying to get us through
this. Their efforts were altruistic and most kind. To
Microsoft: a week has gone by and you haven't done a
thing to try to help the users of your product. Bite me
you bastards. I am about to uninstall Money 2002 from my
PC. I hope never to have to use that product again.
