Money 2002 on another pc. I restored from backup my
latest file and could then edit the transaction. I added
a character in the memo field and also set it to C or
Cleared.

year or maybe sooner, though I can't be certain.

Well, what ever else you do, don't do Money Updates for now. There
is a Money-2002 specific updates problem that is being studied.

On your file, I suggest you don't delete your backups. It is
possible one will be your best shot.

Can you Void or Delete the bad transaction? Can you even change the
Memo? This is not good.

The version salv.exe referenced in
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;274584 would
probably be newer than yours. It could make a difference. The
version loaded in the Money 2004 trial is newer still.

Default Can't Clear Check

In Money 2002 I have two accounts, checking and credit
card. The check written to pay the credit card won't
accept the mark as c entry, nor will it from the credit
card account. No change to this entry can be made at all,
date, amount, memo, etc. The program displays, "This
transaction could not be entered." or "Money could not
write to your Money file. The operation cannot be
performed or another application finished this task before
you." Money doesn't crash, all other functions work (so
far). I've used both the Salvage and Super Salvage and no
errors are found. Any ideas? The amount is way too large
to just carry.
