 Money 2002 Wont Start Problem Wow! A light in the darkness! Your's is finally an explanation that makes sense! You should work for a good computer co. like Apple! Now if we could just get MS to do something about this!! | Money 2002 Wont Start Problem Just a shot in the dark ... I believe the update that is crashing Money 2002 is the "Security Update for Microsoft Data Access Components (KB832483)" This update changes what is called "MDAC" (Microsoft Data Access Components). MDAC is a set of tools that allow programs to access databases. I believe Microsoft Money stores it's data in a Microsoft Access type of database (and probably uses MDAC to get at the data.) So, I believe an update to MDAC caused Money 2002 to not open because it can't open the .mny file. I have not tried the uninstall/install fix yet. MS will probably update the KB832483 update itself, and this will fix the problem without doing the uninstall/install. |
